On almost every page of this slender novel there was something that made me stop short, either because of the beauty of the writing or because of some raw or tender truth that made me pause to think. Through its wry, librarian protagonist, Lizzie Benson, Weather explores collective anxieties about where this world is heading, but from a private, quiet place rooted in family and love.
